A song from the very first live performance by The Masques of Mandragora, Gary’s short-lived band featuring Dan Mersh on guitar, Chris Limb on bass and Jeremy Limbon keyboards, at The Albany on Great Portland Street, as part of a comedy club I ran for a while called Club Le Strange. This was in fact the only gig we did as a four-piece, mainly thanks to Chris breaking his wrist the following month and Jeremy having better things to do the month after that (after which I let the whole thing slide). It was filmed by Mandy Jones on an old-timey 2005 mobile phone, but many years later I synchronised it to a soundboard recording made on the night by James Wren. Sadly there’s no bass in the mix, but honestly I’m astonished it exists at all.
