A rare performance of I Am a Video at The Garage on Highbury Corner in support of
the mighty Tenek, whose t-shirt Gary is wearing. I was torn about appearing - one of
my best mates was getting married just up the road and I felt terribly guilty about not
being there - but a gig is a gig, and Tenek are Tenek. I’m not a huge fan of this
performance - it really is difficult watching this fat bald bloke lolloping around trying
to be Damon Albarn or whatever it is he’s doing - but it really is fascinating seeing his
transformation from the carefully coiffeured New Romantic dandy he used to be in
his earlier days to what is essentially a normal person, in t-shirt, jeans and black-
