Monday December 3rd ABC News (yes, I know it’s a US news programme and I lived in the UK, but it’s a great insight into how the US reacted to the Iran Hostage Crisis so I couldn’t resist) Tuesday December 4th A fire in Hull kills three boys from the same family. An investigation reveals it to be the work of serial arsonist Bruce George Peter Lee. Lee confesses to 11 counts of arson and is convicted of 26 counts of manslaughter, though 11 of those convictions are overturned on appeal. Lee is eventually sentenced to life in prison in 1981.
